Even though 2017 is coming to an end, there are still numerous exciting events popping up all across the island. With the children on their school holidays and the need to clear all your annual leave, stay in Singapore this festive season to see what’s in store for you. With 12 festive events, that’s one event/attraction every single day until Christmas!
1. Christmas Wonderland at Gardens by the Bay
Get yourself into the festive mood by heading to Singapore’s largest yuletide fair! With a festive market, carnival games and rides and festive workshops, you’ll get the full European Christmas experience. Chock full of yummy food options as well as alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverage options, your tummy will definitely be full and warm. Finish off your night with a performance from Circus Abyssinia and semi-acoustic performances by some of Singapore’s finest talents. The perfect ending to a perfect night.

2. Prudential Marina Bay Carnival
Dubbed Singapore’s largest carnival and boasting over 40 family-friendly rides and games, this is THE carnival of the year. The Carnival has rides specially brought in from various European countries for the very first time! Any Marvel and Pixel fans out there? There’ll be over 1 million plush toys up for grabs – so don’t miss out! And if you’re hungry, you’ll be able to grab your classic fairground favorites such as candyfloss and even local delights with a twist such as chendol soft serves. See you there!

3. Flashbang Singapore
The largest immersive neon light creative playground, Flashbang is also the first of its kind in Singapore. Hosting over 120 retail and f&b stalls, vintage arcade games and experiential virtual reality installation and interactive walls, Flashbang has just the right mix of old-school and modern. They even have 2 different sets of programs to tailor for the family crowd during the day and the party-goers in the night. With tons of neon lights and a photobooth, your instagram will be teeming with photos of your amazing night here.

4. Penang Hawkers’ Fare
If you love Penang food as much as I do, then this is something that is definitely not to be missed! For 2 weeks, indulge in a buffet filled with 12 of Penang’s best hawker food – think Penang Laksa, Oyster Omelette and Nasi Lemak. You’ll even get to watch the chefs in action through the Show Kitchen and customize the level of spice that you want. But let’s not forget the desserts! 5. Yoga & Movie Under the Stars

Have your go on amusement rides, tasty treats and also shop for christmas gifts. There will be a total of 25 pop-up stores, ranging from food and beverages to fashion and quirky little trinkets. Dine in an alfresco setting in the open-air area set up in the middle and enjoy the christmas light-up at the same time. There is even a Santa house where you’ll be able to take a photo with Santa Claus himself!

7. Trick Eye Museum Augmented Reality (AR) Christmas
Think you’ve seen all there is to see at the Trick Eye Museum? Well, the Museum is now equipped with augmented reality technology, making your photos pop even more than ever! You will now be immersed with sounds, lights and other effects that make the illusions even more realistic. Watch as art installations and paintings are brought to life before you. And if you visit the museum from now until the 31st of December, snap a picture or video of yourself with the augmented reality function and stand a chance to go to Seoul for free! 8. Night Happenings at Sentosa
Immerse yourself in an Instagram-worthy ambience at Sentosa this year-end. Watch as Imbiah Lookout becomes filled with colour and neon lights from 7pm with its art installations! You’ll be able to get glowing alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages or paint yourself fluorescent or doodle your wishes onto a neon doodle wall. Let the inner child in you be unleashed!

Singapore’s first ever out-door, free cinema series by the beach is located right in Sentosa! Every Tuesday evening, bring your family and friends and buckle down for a free movie screening. There will be free popcorn, drinks, food and music for everyone and all you have to do is show up and be ready to have a good time!

9. Singapore Art Museum Open House
Explore thought-provoking and interesting works of contemporary art by artists from all over Asia for free at SAM at 8Q’s open house this Christmas. There will also be ongoing art and crafts workshops throughout the day. The workshops are inspired by their latest exhibition, Cinerama: Art and the Moving Image in Southeast Asia. There will even be a free movie screening of The Nightmare Before Christmas at 12pm, 2pm and 4pm. Make sure to save the date! You definitely don’t want to miss out on this amazing opportunity to spend some time with the little ones!

10. Themed Christmas at your Local Heartland Malls
You don’t have to go to town just to see the Christmas light-ups and decorations. Your local heartland mall will have them too! And they’re even better in my opinion. Where else are you going to find a Transformers-Themed Christmas or a Play-Doh Themed Christmas? Visit your local heartland mall to see the amazing themed Christmas decorations that they have put up this year. What’s even better is that they normally have the opportunity for you to take a photo with the theme mascots, stage performances, the chance to win some vouchers and take part in crafts or other activities as well! Don’t miss out!

11. Christmas Light-Up
It’s Christmas Eve! And what better way to spend the night than to be looking at the Christmas Light-Ups? Come down to Orchard Road and spend some time looking at the beautiful lights they have put up this year. The theme for this year’s Christmas decorations is Endless Wonder and how aptly named it is. Walk down from Forum Shopping Mall and you’ll even see 5 new sculptures that they have put up this year just for Christmas. This year’s light-up is not to be missed!

12. Marina Bay Singapore Countdown Charity Trail
It’s finally Christmas! On this day of giving, give not just to family and friends, but also to charities. This Christmas, spend some time and take a leisurely stroll on the Marina Bay Singapore Countdown Charity Trail. You’ll not only get to explore 11 of the Marina’s hottest spots, but through the interactive trail app LocoMole, you’ll play games, do challenges and learn more about charity organisations. You’ll also have the opportunity to donate and/or volunteer with your choice of organisation(s) in 2018. But in giving, you’ll also receive! This trail is peppered with vouchers for you and all you have to do is take part in the walking trail. Don’t have FOMO – take part in the trail today!
