Constantly finding new things to do in Singapore can be a chore. How many times can you visit the same shopping malls, restaurants, and tourist attractions? Fortunately, there are new places to see all the time. Take, for example, the newly-opened Clip ‘n Climb at HomeTeam NS Tampines.
For adventure-lovers, this will be a real treat. Located a short five-minute walk away from Tampines MRT, Clip ‘n Climb is Singapore’s very first climbing indoor theme park.
These are no ordinary sport-climbing walls though. Just look at how quirky they are! This climbing concept was specially brought in from New Zealand. There are 19 (!!!) unique wall configurations, and each one is eight metres tall. There are many different ways to climb each wall and route suggestions are displayed on little plastic plaques at the base. So, both beginners and expert climbers will be challenged according to their preferred difficulty level.
If you’re not much of a climber and video games are more your cup of tea, you can try Laser Quest, a massive laser tag arena located next to Clip ‘n Climb. Laser Quest is Singapore’s second laser tag arena, and it has a futuristic Tron vibe to it. There are 10 different missions to choose from.
What we loved about Clip ‘n Climb
Our writers went down to HomeTeamNS Tampines, where Clip ‘n Climb is located, to check out the activities. Here’s what we loved.
1. High-tech Belaying System
For rock-climbing enthusiasts, Clip ‘n Climb’s unique self-belaying system means that climbers don’t need a ground partner. This means that you never have to waste time belaying your friends. Instead, all of you can climb together at the same time!
2. The Quirky Designs
Clip ‘n Climb’s off-kilter designs mean that you’ll never get bored. These walls are painted in crazy colours, and some of them feature really unique handholds and footholds. By the way, several of these walls resemble scenes from popular video games. So this is one way to encourage your non-adventurous friends to try out climbing for fun!
3. Fun for the Whole Family
Clip ‘n Climb’s variety of difficulty levels means that this is one activity for the whole family. For those looking for a challenge, look for walls with three-carabiner ratings! Try to scale the notorious Jack and the Beanstalk wall if you can.
With their family-friendly offerings, quirky designs, and futuristic belaying systems, Clip ‘n Climb will elevate your climbing experience to the next level. Have fun!
Clip ‘n Climb is priced at $18 for 90 minutes, and Laser Quest is priced at $10 per mission. More information can be found at www.hometeamns.sg.
